The wiki entry for macaroni pie is great...Greece, Finland, the USA and even Italy has them...let alone versions on various Caribbean islands....

I didn't know FB pies still existed! staple food when I first left home, before I had a proper kitchen. Often followed by Heinz treacle sponge from a tin :)

my total guilty pleasure, the pastry is the best & gravy on steak & kidney is the best and I don't care there is no meat in them - most of it gets picked out as I don't like kidney.
