Gobsmacked at self flaggelation from ENG fans on here. 4 points from 2 games more than adequate to progress further. My own lot have NEVER got out of the group stage and not even been in attendance for 24 years .

Sorry about that. Every time I watch England men play it’s as dull as ditchwater. Apparently when I don’t watch they’re great

Are you not allowed to be realistic? Do you have to have blind optimism. I've watched almost every match and in my realistic assessment, England aren't in the top six.

Of course, I want England to win. But what I watched last night was poor. In fact if it hadn't been for that hated figure Maguire getting his head on everything in our penalty area it could have been a worse result.

Also being realistic the last eight games, we have;

Lost to Hungary
Drawn to Germany
Drawn to Italy
Lost heavily at home to Hungary
Lost to Italy
Drawn to Germany
Beat heavily Iran
Drawn to USA

Instead of last night being a blip, it would seem that Iran was the blip.

Good to see football weaving its dark magic which occasionally makes us all act like nobheads - sometimes for just moments and for some their whole lives (no one on here obv :-p)

Such a frustrating watch last night.

On a positive note - I had 3 cans of Whitstable Brewery Oyster Stout which was glorious. Shame the match ruined the fun.

Hoping Iran win against USA just for the geopolitical vibes.
