I'm currently sadly an ex runner due to arthritis in the joint of my big toe. I'm being booked in later this year for fusion surgery and am wondering what the potential for running again might be following Thanks |

Sorry to hear this adiet13. I offer the following in the spirit of hope. I have no personal experience of fusion surgery but my wife suffers from arthritis in her foot and found running too painful for many (10+ years). She’d tried many options including orthotics and assorted physio, all to no avail. Last year she tried acupuncture for the first time and the recovery has been remarkable, culminating in completing the Valencia 10K last December, which she loved. Very best wishes with your treatment and for your recovery. |
