jUST GOT THIS EMAIL "Dear Runner Due to the heavy downpour of snow today and the forecast for more still to come, the organising committee of Folksworth 15 have regrettably made a decision that the race on Sunday 20th January WILL NOT go ahead. It will be postponed until further notice, depending whether an alternative date can be found for it to be rearranged. We will keep you posted as soon as we know. We are as disappointed as I know all participants will be that the race cannot be run, but we hope you understand that the decision has been made in order to ensure the safety of all runners, marshals and supporters. Kind regards Claire Piercy Folksworth 15 Race Secretary " |

I can see why it's been cancelled. Hilly country roads with twists and turns and only needs 1 car to slide into a runner and possible tragic consequences. I think had this been an off road event it would have still be on, but the mix of runners/cars/slippery conditions meant no other choice.

I have advising that the rescheduled date for Folksworth 15 2013 has now been confirmed as Sunday 10 February. Please note: The race will start at 11am. Numbers to be collect on the morning of the race from Race HQ. Technical tops will be handed out to all finishers at the end of the race. Car parking will be limited so we would appreciate it if runners/supporters can car share as much as possible. A taxi service will operate from the car park to Race HQ. Kit storage will be available in Race HQ. Please ensure you allow plenty of time in order to get from the car park to Race HQ to collect your race number and then to get to the start line which is a 15 minute walk from Race HQ. For further information and to download a race information sheet please visit www.yaxleyrunners.org.uk/folksworth-15 If you are not able to take part on this date but know of someone wishing to take your place, I will be happy to do a transfer as long as the following details are received by email by Thursday 7 February: Name of runner taking the place, their address, date of birth, phone number, email address, affiliated running club (if applicable) and any medical conditions we need to be aware of. On behalf of Yaxley Runenrs & Joggers we apologise for any convenience the rescheduling of the race may have caused but we look forward to seeing you in Folksworth on 10th February. Kind regards Claire Piercy Folksworth 15 Race Secretary |
