Garfield
Hard as snails 10k in Guildford...goes uphill at the beginning, undulates and returns going down the hill you climbed at the start. Not flat, to put it mildly but fun.

Might be too late for this year but I've really enjoyed the Bedgebury Forest 10k - part of the RW trail blazer series. Great family day out in the woods - bouncy castle, climbing wall etc etc for the children, then after the running is done with there are all the activities in the woods to enjoy - most of them free, but Go Ape for the more adventurous. This will be the third year I've done this one.

Another one I'm considering doing for a second time is the Brentwood Running Festival in October - I think it ranges from 5k up to full marathon. There is a hill though - but it's not a mountain.

Can also look at the LDWA site, lots of trails on there. I know it's a walking site but they now encourage runners too.

The Strathearn Harriers site is good (just checked it out for the race) - they have pdfs of running routes in the area. Andy - I like events where they provide multi distance options. We might have a Lakeland visit on the cards too... |
