York here also. Back on it as the first day of my plan is today. As I found Edinburgh really difficult I'm kicking my training up from the Hal Higdon Novice 2 plan to the Intermediate 2 one this time.

Cheers Andy. Don't hold out a lot of hope but thought I'd get my name down

I've entered the VLM ballot as I had to do it with an injury this year, but it looks like I won't be running for the forseeable due to requiring three rounds of surgery to fix my poor leg! So as much as I would have liked to stay a part of this thread and become a 2nd timer, it doesn't look like that will be happening for me for some time!! Well done to everyone on here though, it is a great thread and I've really enjoyed being a part of it and seeing all those flags (and now medals!) appearing

I'm unsure i'll ever see another marathon, as at the moment i'm struggling slightely with 13.1 for me my recovery slowly is the important factor - so my priorities are with conquering HM's again with ease RE - my use of vaseline i'd apply it anytime around 5 mins before the off to 45 mins pre run - i'd apply it over 5 miles - 10k, normally just crutch - 10 miles upwards, under arm, crutch and smother feet it just makes the difference between a real happy comphy run ans or the run from hell one thing with marathoning is - i beleive it was pages back OGEE said about - ENJOYING THE JOURNEY |
