Good luck Edinburgh and Liverpool peeps. Temperature looks like being ok and I hope the rain will hold off, at least until you have all finished.

You are all stars, even if it doesn't go as well as you hoped. Training for a marathon is hard work, it's a brilliant achievement even to get to the start line. Most people don't bother trying. Here's to a fantastic experience for afeitar, alzabob, dianeb10, Longwayround and Mattdb |

Drat. I've tonight discovered that I missed the request for names for the pre-marathon meal. Looks like I'm going to carb load on stir fry tomorrow.

Go go go! Seriously, take it easy out there and keep moving forwards. It will light up your year when you finish |

Ahhhh so pleased! I finished in 4.33.34 - perfect palindrome time. First half was perfect, did it in 2.09. Then somewhere after about 16 miles I just started to slooooow down. At about 24.5 miles my shin started hurting really badly and I thought I might have to hobble over the finish line but I persevered and got there. So so so happy maybe even considering trying another next year to get sub-4.30....

5h 15m was slower than my dream time but I'm content with it: I couldn't have done it significantly quicker as I was having to pace myself after 19 miles to keep calf cramp in check. Podkin caught my ARF towards the end:
