Second most junior team member to most junior team member, about 12:30: Oh, you can go now if you want, we always get a half day last day before Christmas. Me (team head): Um, no, we sometimes get that from the university but not this year because Christmas Eve is a Saturday. I'm off in an hour or so but I've booked a half day The Big Boss, by email, five minutes later: Hey everyone, if your boss doesn't absolutely need you feel free to head off any time! I cancelled the half day leave, seeing as I was still doing meetings an hour and a half after said email... |
