Hiya. I'm currently on the road to recovery from injury and need to get back on it. I want to book in a marathon for September/October time. I cant seem to find anything that takes my fancy. I prefer more scenic exciting runs than your average city race. I live in Cambridgeshire if it helps. Any suggestions? It will be my fourth marathon too. Cheers.

SuperDave!
Rutland Water in Nov. Supposed to be scenic, I'm considering it myself. Never done it before.

Rutland Water's great. I'm strongly considering doing it again this year.

Or maybe the Spires and Steeples in Lincoln in October. Never done it but it reviews well.

Normally my generic answer to this question is, of course, Mablethorpe.

Not as scenic as Rutland, though.

I've done Rutland, twice. Its on the list! I've looked in to Beachy. Thoughts? I like the sound of the Lincoln one too... its local. Has anyone run Leicester?

I love Leicester. That's a great marathon. Starts in the city and then goes all the way out to somewhere, then back in past that giant dildo thing then through the town centre to the end.

Nice mile hill at the end to overtake people on :)
