I am resting today (and tomorrow) but have managed to rearrange a meeting I have this afternoon to a venue that I can walk to - the route to which is paved with gold coins. So I might have to wear my Garmin (but remember to take it off before I go into the meeting!)

My Garmin is held together with sellotape... it would not impress in a meeting...

Have we found out who won the new one yet?

I think Fetch said that the person who won had been notified but he's not announcing it til they get back to him.

I'm assuming it's not me so bought a new one this morning...

Nope :-(

Oh well. I was supposed to be resting today but there's a handful of bug spawned over night really close to my house and it's killing me on points so I'm off on a quick clean up mission when I get in.

Just studied the map again and if I go to my meeting via the cashpoint (then take quite a large detour to cross the mile line) I can get rid of a bug as well. Result :-)

Following DTs' map of his Central London route and the comments that players in well populated areas have an advantage, here's how I'm staying in the top ten while living in a remote area. Distances in Km.

Running

Mountain biking

Two things I have in my favour are that I cycle to work by mountain bike, so I can access on & off road markers over a wide area, and I live on the edge of the Wyre Forest, most of which is effectively Open Access, so I'm not restricted to footpaths like most rural players.

Based on DTs' obsessive route-plotting before a Fetchpoint run I thought I'd see if I could use my Garmin Forerunner 305 do achieve something similar without the need to print lots of maps.

I've posted a blog article describing how to import a Fetchpoint course onto your Garmin GPS watch before you go out for a run. http://www.fetcheveryone.com/blog_other.php?uid=47124

So if you're an obsessive Fetchpoint player too, and you have a Garmin GPS watch with the Courses feature, try it and let me know how you get on.

Perhaps what we all need to remember is that it *is* only a game.... :-P
