If you collect a load of bugs and don't go outside your mile they will stay where you are.

If you collect a load of bugs and do go outside your mile those which have travelled less than a mile to get there (e.g. just going from just inside the circle to just outside it) will stay and gather on the bit of your route outside the circle. Those which have travelled more than a mile will get squished.

So on a run maybe half the bugs I collect get herded just outside the circle and half get squished. I can then collect the remaining bugs and move them on another run, or someone can run them back towards me but again they will get squished if they move more than a mile.

Ha, good point - today was only my second run, so I guess I should have spent longer looking at the rules in fine detail :-) Anyway, all my longer runs will be done away from my home turf where there isn't anyone playing so this was more for enjoyment on local short easy runs - not that there is going to be many of them over the coming months anyway :P

Boom! 4404 points from a 3-miler, and I didn't even go outside my mile circle. Nice start to proceedings. :)

Bugs survive if you manage to move them more than a mile. If you happen to get them bang on a mile they survive as I discovered last night.

Now I know why that bug didn't pick up. My whole route upto about 0.2M is actually showing as being about 30 metres or so South East of where I actually ran, so according to the route plotted, I didn't get far enough up the farm track to reach the bug although I know I did because I used trees as my landmarks. snoffair :(

Schoolboy error from me tonight I ventured on to the golf course to get the elusive bug, only to forget I needed to go outside my 1 mile radius afterwards !!

I thought I was being clever - going through some traffic lights that are not owned by anyone but discovered as they still have points on them I can't pick them up and had to pay to run through them! Do I have to wait for them to go to 0 before I pick them up? (or is 'no-one in particular' an actual user?!) There's loads of them around my house, all belonging to 'no-one in particular'

It was only a 3 mile dog walk, I'm sure I'll get over it. I'm hoping that my bugs build up and I can get a load in one hit at the weekend and squish them good and proper!!!
