Now.... I like to venture a wee bit beyond my circles but.... Your bugs are just a bit far!

Right. Fetchpointing mojo in hand. I'm off with my Garmin for a walk :) I hope to pick up some lovely crimbo pressies while I'm out :)

+1 to Pale Snowy Vegan's comment earlier with respect to remembering that we're still in test mode and encouraging people to make positive suggestions instead of just complaining. I'm liking the idea of coin drops being related to player density but, to be honest, can't help thinking that we may need to extend the test period to see how that works. And while we're on the subject of being in test mode, is it just me who feels himself inwardly answering the 'What will happen if......?' questions with either 'Why don't you go try it and find out?' or 'Why would you want to do that?'

Alternatively, we can all just recognise that any game of this nature is always going to favour folks doing high mileage where there are plenty of markers to pick up - a bit like races always being won by people who run faster and train better.

For me, I'm just grateful for something which makes me think a bit more about where I'm going to run than I otherwise would. I'm having fun linking up places I probably wouldn't otherwise and it is a fine motivator to go out and progress the injury recovery a bit before I start training 'properly' again. Come the summer, the game will change for me - I'll be off doing my long runs into places where nobody else ever goes (I own numerous Conquercise zones simply because i'm the only person who has ever visited them) so I expect that my scores will diminish accordingly but that's my choice.

One final suggestion - we wondered, earlier in the month, about bug penalties being applied later in the day so that everybody had a chance to do something about the new ones before being penalised. That's not happened - for good reason - and, as far as I can see, it's all evened itself out as the month has gone on so has ceased to be an issue. I do suspect it could become an issue again at the start of each month and wonder what people think of the idea of a Bug Amnesty on the first of each month - ie. no penalties until midday on the second? That would give everybody the opportunity at least to thin out some of the new crop before their lifetime score gets hammered.

CA - with regard to bugs - did you see the fmail I just sent? Also... next month I'm likely to make the bugs infest more gradually i.e. rather than 24 on day one, and then one each day, it'll be more like 8 on day one, and 2-3 each day. I think a lot of newer players and those of a nervous disposition found the big initial penalties tough.

For the record, I don't want to discourage people from giving their opinions on the game. I do find those that are accompanied by a sad smiley to be a bit distressing, because I am working hard to make this work - but it's important to hear everyone's views, and maybe everyone phrases things differently.

Apologies - I hadn't seen the fmail until just now - my fault for not looking! Looks like more good ideas. Thanks again.

And apologies also for the apparent grumpiness in that last message - this time of year always brings out the worst in me.

I think its time to relocate an inaccessible bug then go out and shift it. :)

Ah, there is the confirmation that I am Billy No Mates :-)

I'm going to try moving my bugs from just outside the mile line to just inside the 2 mile line at the weekend. That way they should stay unsquiashed and allow further movements and points if I plan carefully :-)

I have one person registered within a 2 mile radius and they live in our house. How spooky is that.
