If you pick one up in an activity .......... It will also show you if it is owned by someone.

Thanks, yours first comment is very reassuring!!

Could you expand on the second a bit please? Since we don't see the map during our activity - it just gets updated after we've finished our walk etc. So there's not a point when we've picked up the relay and can see details while we're carrying it. We'll pick it up and put it down at the furthest point all within the workout which we don't watch on the map. I hope I'm explaining this!

It's just confusing because the guide refers to checking if someone owns it but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that!

If you click on your map settings (grey menus within the red banner heading) you will see your circle centered on wherever you’ve defined as your home spot.

If your circle is anything like mine you’ll see bugs and jewels, and possibly traffic lights and or relays. You can use this to plot your route to collect as many items as possible. Note the order of collection doesn’t matter - ie you can pick up a relay as the very last item on your activity and it will search your whole route for the place to move to. Similarly to squish your bugs you need to go out your circle, but you can do this at any point in your activity and all bugs collected across the whole activity will be squished.

When you are out and about you can open the map on your phone and click the “find me” button to see how close you are to an object. Note that your phone and your watch might plot you at a slightly different spot!

In your map if you click on a specific item you’ll sometimes see who owns it. Traffic lights and flowers definitely work like this. I though relays did too, could be a bug which I’ll report to Fetch.

Apparently the relays have never shown the owners name!

Feature request 2161 raised :-)

Thanks @Little Saint Pothunter for confirming that the relays have never displayed who owns them, this is what had totally confused me. I'm not sure why you explained how to play the game though! I'm doing ok with most of the rest of it. Feeling a bit patronised to be honest 😬

The Fetchpoint guide is always a good place to start.
@Little Saint Pothunter, thanks for taking the initiative and creating that feature request.

I demand a steward’s enquiry! Planned my dog walk this morning to pick up several bugs but had to go outside the circle first. I absolutely did but I still didn’t get my bugs. Bah!

I think we've all done that. :)

If I'm that close I'll go a bit further, stop and wave my arm about to make sure.

In cases like this one, you can supplement your GPS activity with a manual one that takes the bug outside of the circle in the way you did, to achieve what the game should have.

@angelrose's approach is the best one: going far enough out of the circle so that the game has to register it as out.

The distance between two grid points is 40 metres, I think. That far out of the circle should be enough.

Got something to say?
