Well done Steve, although not necessary to drop out, just drop the obsession.
I use it as somewhere to aim for.

I do agree fp is something to aim for, and cultivating flowers certainly gave me that. Five to ten years ago I would always be following a marathon programme as something to aim for. However, I don't find that speedwork is much compatible with fp, and as I get older I feel I need to do some varied pace. My speed has dropped really badly since I stopped training for some or other race since the start of lockdown. So I need to find out if it has gone for ever, or whether I can get a bit back!

Similar to DocM. I try to deal with my bug most days but otherwise just play passively. I have gone at it like a mad thing a couple of times over the years and that's fun for a while but nice to stop.

It really helps me to get out! A quick wizz round the lane on an evening that wouldn't have happened or a quivk walk to get my bug out of my circle...

There is a HM race in my village this morning which will result in me having about 300 flowers stolen.
More significantly, the route zig zags in and out several times meaning that every single one of the 6 trails out of my village that I run on will be blocked by the race.
Either I wait until this afternoon when the temperature will be very warm, or run on hard roads and pavements which are not good for my legs at the moment (anyway, they will be in use by the accompanying 10k race). I have chosen to go out on the trails now before the races start. Fancy having to get up before 6am on a Sunday morning!
