Brief experiment this morning - I marked a random marker as inaccessible then ran through the space where it had been. The point didn't automagically reinstate itself as accessible leading me to believe that function, which supposedly existed once, doesn't work (any more?).

I have manually reinstated the point in question as accessible.

I don’t think the feature has ever worked, certainly folks cycling along the no pavement bit of the A1 don’t reinstate markers I’ve placed

I think the re-instatement happens overnight, as in the spot becomes accessible. Once you've marked anything other than a flower as inaccessible it doesn't pop back up anywhere at all.
I always think it's a good idea to mark the jewels etc as inaccessible otherwise if they're put there again it's a waste. You want them somewhere where you can at least try and grab them.

How does it help me if I ‘map my route’ manually as per the guide because I left my watch plugged in at home?
All I’m missing today is planting flowers!

It works just the same: you plant flowers, pick up jewels, squish bugs...

Yeah there’s no jewels up here I haven’t brought my circle! I just don’t really understand how the Route plotter works, I mean I use it to plot routes before I run from home, I just don’t see how it can help if I don’t have my watch with me.

It will make you plant flowers, which gives you a few points, that is all, unless you move your circle with you temporarily, then you can squish bugs and collect jewels.

Jelly, are you entering your training after your run? Then you can use the route you have already entered.
It might look like extra work, to create the route and then add it to your training.
However, if you go the same way again, you can reuse the route you saved.

alpenrose re the jewels I agree it's a good idea to mark inaccessible places but I think a jewel, once generated, is allocated a spot and, if the spot is occupied or inaccessible, it just doesn't get dropped, and the program moves onto trying to drop the next jewel. This would explain why people with a lot of inaccessible places, like by the sea, feel they don't get as many jewels. It also prevents gaming the system by marking nearly everywhere as inaccessible so that jewels and bugs are dropped in a nice handy clump. But this is just my feeling and I am happy to be corrected.
