(I should say I don't have a fancy watch and use the GPS on my phone, so the selfie stick isn't quite as mad an idea as it sounds, but I don't have one and don't indent to get one, especially nto for silly games)

Lol Jenelopy - or you could get you feet wet for one of the jewels ;-). I think you can safely say they are not accessible - especially as you tried.

Day 30. 9877 points.
And an absolutely massive storm! I thinknis going to be a very long and unpleasant walk.

It'll be lovely when you are back in the warm and dry, with a hot cuppa, looking at those lovely new points though ITG 😊

Fragile Do Not Bend
I’ve been known to lean over a fence and reach my watch arm as far as I can , when faced with a borderline bug or jewel.

Same here FDNB, there's a sports ground in my circle which I can't enter but I can stick my arm through the fence and hope. Today's bug is on a golf course which I can't access but I *should* able to squish it by walking along a neighbouring road, if I keep on the correct side. And if that doesn't work I'll mark it inaccessible.

The trouble is, sallykate, sometimes GPS and the map don't agree about where you went. If you are short on time, it might be an idea to mark it as inaccessible, and see where the regenerated bug appears on refreshing the map. You can always go past the golf course to reset the accessibility, in case GPS and the map do agree, and it is accessible.

Actually BS that might not be a bad idea - if it builds up the "inaccessible" area in Fetch's magic databases, to stop it appearing there again.

Yes, it's worth inaccessibling anything that's inaccessible in your circle, even things like randoms that aren't all that important, because it means that spot is marked and your bug won't land there in future.
I have been known to shuffle along at the edge of a road with my arm stretched out sidewards, trying not to brush the nettles with my hand.

A very wet and cold 10km in the storm and I'm on 9986! There is a saphire and an emerald on my route home but that is only 12 points. Arrgh! I'm not sure I can face the necessary detour to pick up something else. Since my first day was not very high scoring (no bug bonus), I assume it will go over 10,000 overnight anyway.
I think that is also my 30 days in so fingers crossed for a badge tomorrow.
