Because there are more they are easier to round up than last month and there's a good pay back for moving them a mile too. Are you clearing a lot of coins in one go and doing it every day? If so I suspect that you aren't seeing much of a build up of coins. I did one area of my map on Thursday and haven't run since so there is a healthy crop awaiting my next run
