Some big ransoms today - 5 in the 200 point region (all positives too :)). Some more bugs cleared and dumped well out of the way in the city centre and at least 2 triangles which were pretty much on top of each other so it would have been rude not to as they were just up a side street from my planned route :)

thanks Elisetoo I thought that must be the case. Problem is my mile marker is WAY over a mile and not do-able on my morning running. Oh well good job I'm not trying to win the league ;)

Old morning routine. Run. Warm down, shower, eat, do stuff, log run using stored route. Garmin only downloaded when running unusual routes.

New morniong routine. Check game. Run. Download garmin quick before anyone else can. Check game again. Shower, eat, do stuff, remember that had forgotten to warm down, swear a bit.

Back in the top ten for an hour or so this morning :). 7.3 miles; loads of points; nine bugs moved; some relays. three garmin markers. :) :) :)

Hm, December changes seem to have changed the game ethos from the viewpoint of a rural setting.

Whilst previously it was fun to seek out the positive coins with a hey, nonnie no, round previously unknown routes in the locality focus now swithces to the negativity of bug clearing. Previously, coins located in countryside could be left fallow until a daylight bog trot was considered - or simply left untouched; bugs similarly located and therefore not readily accessible (farm land, golf course, barren hillside, deep gullies) must really be left alone until they migrate by themsleves unto the road system. Even then, some country roads have neither paths nor verges but handle commuter traffic with wing mirrors which pass by ones elbow at a distance of 300mm and at 60mph. Must therefore wait again until bugs move themsleves to somewhere even safer before considering gathering up. Negative points just build and build ....

Free game, not compulsory, beta phase to try and identify the difference between what theoratically works and what works in practice. Is there a constructive change you can suggest that might make it fairer for country folk?

From my perspective bugs are easy points. Pick them up, carry them a mile, 100 points. Job done. If they are inaccessible then report them and get them taken off your map. Bring on the bugs.

DT Am not making a complaint, simply an observatiion to inform the Beta position ....

In the urban setting, bugs located on or close to roads, parks, paths, WHU can be considered along with positives in setting routes. Devices located mid-field or in isolation on an exposed hillside are not (in my view) "inaccessible" but they are certainly "inaccessible" when considered againt the urban equivalent.

Perhaps Fetch will have a view; should we rural dwellers be reporting anything which sits away from a road or path as "inaccessible"?

Maybe rural areas need access to pots of "bug repellent" which, when triggered will nuke an area of 20 sq miles (whilst leaving humankind and all livestock hale and hearty)
