It does that R4R, seems to correct itself once you've been for a run.
Have I missed something, or is the option to "place" markers missing from the map (maybe the only ones you can place aren't in the game right now?)

Unless I run or cycle every day I won't keep on top of the bugs. I'm recovering from injury, so my runs aren't very long. I only run three or so times a week. I don't necessarily go out of my zone as I walk the dog and before, the coins would keep me in the positive - now I'm permanently in the negative. The points system with the bugs seems disproportionate to the previous set up, so the game as it used to be was more enjoyable; I felt like I was achieving something and it kept me going. Now I just feel deflated and that for me, it's not worth bothering with now as I don't do enough now to even stay on top of things. Just my opinion as other people obviously like it.

I think it'll take time to settle down, which is why we are in this 'test' period before the real start on 1st September
Oranj - collectable markers are temporarily suspended, but will return (including trig points). Whether it will be the full set as before remains to be seen

btw - even though I have benefitted, it does seem a bit generous to have a bonus as high as 200 for clearing bugs. maybe 50 would be more equitable
Also it seems odd that I report a bug as inaccessible and it doesn't get replaced - part of my bug clearance over the last couple of days included reporting 2 unreachable bugs (they were genuinely inaccessible btw) so I got a bonus by doing nothing more than clicking a button

R4R, OK. I had a feeling that rent markers were also "placeable", but maybe not.
My bug bonus was also from reporting a couple of unreachable bugs, which weren't replaced the next day. I suppose if the new game is remembering those positions, then when we re-start on 1 September it'll be a little fairer as bugs will be more likely to only pop up in reachable places.
Will the markers on the map be re-generated on 1 September, as well as the leaderboards?

Two comments on the new game
a) I dont think the jewels are as pretty on the map as the old coins. Why not revert to the coin icon and have them in bronze, silver and gold to represent values.
b) I think the flowers should be worth double what they currently are. The current game setup seems focused on bug killing (due to the negative scoring), and not challenging people to get way outside their mile zone. At least for us living in the sticks.

I'm afraid I am still not getting the bug thing - how have I got 9 bugs in my area, despite blitzing two yesterday and my OH (registered to the same post code) only has 5 and yet has done nothing for the last couple of weeks? He assures me he hasn't reported any as being unreachable and I'm guessing you don't lie about that kind of thing!

I just did a dog walk that took me outside my zone (was collecting my car after a night out) and took a route to clear infected bugs which are now owned by someone else and which have stayed there and doubled in value - fantastic! How does that work?!

I'm missing the random placing of one thing in your home zone (as in gore monkeys, tomtomatoes or whatever) it doesn't matter to me whether there are prizes attached, what I loved was the way it forced me to plan a route to take it in and also gave me the opportunity to nick one from my neighbour if they didn't get there first. I'm assuming that the Higgs Bosun things are rarer than that. Will the prizes be linked to something similar when they are announced or will they be points based?
