A few weeks ago, one of my routes took off in a line towards Blackpool airport (about 15 miles as the crow flies), and then came back again a couple of minutes later. I got a few extra flowers in the process, but missed some coins that I passed in the meantime.
It didn't plant any flowers across the Irish Sea. Does this mean you can't plant flowers while open-water kayaking ?

I'd have thought you could have planred flowers in the sea. I've just had a look near me and there are bugs in the sea and point to point thingys.

Thanks to the conversation about relays, I have just bought one. it will be interesting to see what happens to it.
Hey, just had a thought. I live fairly close to the centre of Great Britain... or at least, almost as far from the sea as you can get. So if I bought one of each relay and started them outside my house, I could have a competition between them to see which one gets furthest....

Great minds etc. I also bought some relays and am enjoying tracking them.

Why is it that on a day when I think I'm going to run and catch a gorilla it's in an inaccessible place? Today, it's in the river running through a farmer's fields!

I once planted a couple on the Leeds-Liverpool canal in Leeds, hoping they'd make their way along the canal, but the first person to carry them took them away from the canal so they're currently stuck somewhere in the Yorkshire Moors
I've just planted a couple at either end of the West Highland Way. Waiting to see which gets to the other end first

Here's an interesting feature - make the most of it until I come up with a way to stop it
Relays actually earn you 1000 points per mile (not the 25 that was previously listed in the game guide, now updated).
I think that some of our more enterprising players have realised that if they collect two relays on the same spot (they will tend to congregate anyhow), then you can earn points for both, without any extra mileage. And if you have 368 on the same spot, you earn 368 times the amount of points
I'll have to see what I can do to close that loophole, because it's a bit open-ended (why stop at 368?) - but feel free to make hay in the mean time
