I agree with the moving home point thing. Where my parents live they have sea on one side of them, an industrial estate inland and a marine reserve a bit along the coast from town. When I'm out there I centre the circle so it covers the area I run in (with an accessible bug dumping spot) rather than centering it exactly on their house which would take in too much sea.

Most of my area is inaccessible, and it really wouldn't help to move my home point.
I know it doesn't make any difference in the overall scheme of things (I'm not a points leader), but I find it irritating to be penalised for not moving bugs that are out of reach. Therefore I move the bugs by reporting them, then hoover them up by travelling where I can. Sometimes i move the bugs then don't run in time, and gain more penalties, but that's my fault and I accept that quite happily because the decision was mine.
Control freak? Moi? Possibly....

Snookered this morning by reporting some bugs, setting out to run them away, then spraining my ankle..... It did cross my mind to complete the route, but good sense prevailed and I limped home. So now I have bugs nearer home, and I'm out of action

southcoastpete, that rule was brought in in the first place because players were getting stressed by bugs which were completely inaccessible. A single inaccessible bug can cost you almost 8,000 points over the course of a month. In an area with a lot of players and with maybe a couple of schools, railway lines and dual carriageways, you can be penalised tens of thousands of points a month, not be able to clear the bugs by running/cycling, and not be able to fix the problem by moving your home point because the inaccessible areas aren't one solid block, but stripes and blobs scattered around the map. Low-volume runners can simply be unable to score fast enough to keep up with the bug penalties.
This rule was the consensus of players' wishes, and it doesn't even remove the bug, just dumps it closer to your home point so it'll cost you more points anyway if you don't get out there and squish it. You don't need to use it, but please don't criticise others for daring to use it; it's just as fair a way of trying to keep the bugs under control as moving your home point would be.

To be fair, he does say "Anyway that's my take on it, reporting things is in the rules and therefore part of the game for anyone who wants to do it. "...

On page 1350, he says "I... really think that part of the game should be removed," which is more what my post is aimed at. It's very kind of him to concede that it's OK by him if the rest of us actually play to the rules even where he doesn't like them, though, don't think I don't appreciate that

I went out on a squishing mission today. Got 4 but some only got moved. I tried to get one on a golf course but seem to have missed it (along with today's goreilla ) Managed a nice bit of flower planting and watering and even picked a few from other people.
