Mick I thought I was geting in to the game a bit much, to everyone else thanks for the comments, now that I am cycling as well as running I have found myself getting more involved in this game, espeically when I am going on the bike to plan my routes.
It has also helped me find shortcuts that I could find when just out running.

Revb / Grammcen it depends how you use the information this kind of detail can provide. If there has an unusual large jump one day, apart from getting the 1m points bonus, the likelihood is that the person has been fortunate to have been 'victim' to the flower planting giltch and with a little bit of checking I can identify if the trail is close by and could I gain by going and pick them.

Not sure how anyone could collect the M1 flower trail though!

In the same way as they were planted, I would guess. I live 20 minutes drive from the M1, I could easily pop out for a few junctions' worth and accidentally take my Garmin... and leave it on...
But I won't. I have integrity. And some work to do.

Some well-timed stretching on a coach journey could be a way of getting the M1 flower trail.

Gramm, I'm getting into it more on my bike - much more fun and plan-able, especially as I can't run very far. Mick, think you've got a bit tooooooo obsessed with this game - lots of useful info for us all though, thanks very much.

Revb, about half my circle is rural, so yeah there are plenty of inaccessible bits. Similarly though, you can't just run anywhere in a town - many coins, bugs etc are in areas that are just simply inaccessible - private roads, gardens, undeveloped bits. Similarly some are in areas which although theoretically getable are not practicable - e.g. right at the end of a long cul-de-sac and to try to get them all would make for a very faffy and boring training run. In my experience rural areas often have footpaths and rights of access which give similar levels of coverage to towns. To me it's all part of the game. I just accept where they are. Have an idea of the length of run I want to do, do a quick check of the map to see which of my regular routes of that distance is likely to hit most stuff and then go. The only real reason I would see for reporting bugs would be if your circle has a really large no-go area in it - say an MOD area or large prison, in which case it is probably more practical to move your homepoint slightly to one side to avoid it rather than repeatedly reporting bugs. Anyway that's my take on it, reporting things is in the rules and therefore part of the game for anyone who wants to do it.
