Ooh, south coaster, I don't agree! I live in a rural area, and nearly half the area in my mile circle is inaccessible. I can easily have several bugs just a short distance from my house, which I can only get rid of if I report them - whereas, if I lived in a built-up area, it would just be a question of running along those streets.
Up until now I have only reported bugs, but was actually wondering about reporting coins too. With the best will in the world, the main routes to and from my house are quickly denuded of coins, while there are stacks of them in the fields...

Revb agree with you about bugs in rural areas as I only have 4 accessible routes and one of those is the main A15 with no footpaths.
If you report coins they will disappear not move and more than likely appear in or near the same place the next day so I no longer report coins.

I'm in YPs camp: don't report anything and rarely check the map before going out. Collecting s (and everything else) is down to luck. The only thing I do try to do is leave my mile circle on each outing just in case I've passed any bugs.

Aha. I have a *goreilla* in my vegetable patch today. Must remember to go out and get it when I get home tonight. Hope it hasn't eaten all the courgettes.

2 greenhouses! That's just greedy. Runner beans are looking good though.

I report rather a lot - when I can. The main reason is that in this rural area very little is within reach, and if I can't get at it then it gets clicked. That leaves me with a view of where the coins etc really are. It doesn't mean I'll get them all, but it's rather like having a tidy desk - at least I can see what's going on.

(Sits in study ostensibly tidying desk but actually checking out fetcheveryone) - Helegant, I know what you mean!!
So, what's your experience of reporting coins? Do they disappear, as mick says, or do they move somewhere (potentially) accessible? I suppose if there's no penalty to reporting them then I may as well do, because even if only a proportion of them turn up somewhere accessible, they are no good to me where they are.

Coins disappear, but are replaced overnight in random fashion. As you've guessed, some fall in accessible places so can be harvested... (and I now have an earworm ) and some reappear only to be clicked away again. Overall I think it gives me a higher chance of harvesting coins during the month simply because of the ones that relocate to a place I can reach. In a few minutes I'm going out to see what I can reach in a nearby field.

I never report coins but do report bugs. And I plan around the map to give me a bit of variety in my routes.
I've got plenty of choice of coins though as there are a few people round here, and unreachable bugs are rare - the odd one in school playing fields or the middle of a railway line.
