I avoided a bug this week until the 2 traffic lights by it had dropped enough to make moving it worthwhile. I occasionally have Fetchies passing through so like to own the traffic lights round here just in case

Just had a look at the map, and there seem to be a lot of coins in the middle of fields. Will they all be on footpaths? There are quite a few paths on here, but they're not all marked on the map.

Nope, they will just be ... in the middle of fields. Or golf courses. Or airports. Or prisons.
I n Scotland, most of these are fair game (maybe not so much the prisons); I understand though in Englandshire people shoot you if you run about their fields.

My gorilla was in the middle of a field off the footpath today. I walked round the very edge of the field to pick it up. You don't need to hit them exactly, they have an 80m circle I think, so I didn't need to walk on any crops.

As Lady Sol says - 80m radius. If you click on them on the map it shows the circle you have to hit (can zoom in to see more clearly). However your Garmin or whatever may not have you in exactly the right place!

With you on the Garmin not having you in exactly the right place! There's a walk around a resevoir which we do periodically, and according to my Garmin, I walk on water for much of the way.
So, I did my first run since I registered this morning, and now I have some points!! My ability to plant flowers is limited at present, since most of my runs are around the 3 mile mark, and I prefer to go round than an out and back. But having said that, I'll no doubt be planting flowers when I run my 10K on Saturday, and of course there's parkrun...

Sat Navs are just as bad as Garmins. There is a field near brackley that it always thinks I am driving through
