But without a way of verifying where post boxes are placed or limiting how many you add to the map, what's to stop you loading them onto popular routes?

yes, I thought of that - but it's like everything else in the game - it's about honesty

Thinking it through -

Postboxes to work a bit like traffic lights - they start with an initial value
When someone runs thru them, they pay a fixed amount of postage to the 'owner', but decrease the 'value' of the postbox by that amount
When the value drops to zero, they become available for seizure, by the next person to run thru them, who becomes the new owner, and the value gets recharged
If the owner runs thru them, they get recharged - either by a fixed amount, or to the initial value
At month end, they remain on the map, but the value drops to zero, and the first person to run thru them becomes the owner, and the value gets recharged

Little Nemo - slightly broken
I'd like a random marker that did more than just give points. You could have one that would zap all the bugs within a certain distance, or would double the number of bugs or other random things. Don't know how easy it would be to set up though. Or maybe we could have Easter Eggs?

It's a question of balance - between those in areas where they are all alone, and those who are over-run with neighbours; between those who live in built up areas and therefore can pretty much reach every part of their circle and those who only have one road running through their circle with 90% of it in-accessible. It's about juggling the scores and penalties so that for the average runner running an average distance an average number of times a week they'll potentially score pretty much the same whichever extreme category they come into - (by potentially I mean if they actively take part in the game and plan routes in accordance with coins, bugs etc etc).

Good luck Fetch :)

My penn'oth - Fetch has about got the flowers right now I think. they are good and can help you earn quite a lot of points and you get credit for growing and watering them. The randoms are silly at the moment and are completely overshadowing everything else. +/- up to 5000, maybe 10,000, is more than enough. That way it would still be a gamble as to whether to run over one or not, but you don't get your entire month hammered if you get it wrong. Bugs IMHO are about right. Sufficiently annoying to require clearing rather than ignoring, therefore have to be taken into account when running, but it is not the end of things if they rack up for a couple of days when other things in real life gets in the way of running.

Just an opinion on a game I have really enjoyed up until about 3 weeks ago.

I'd largely agree with CStar. Maybe flower cap could be a little higher. I'd do away with traffic lights - what's the point? Have relays worked or is their time up too? Bug penalties could go up a little - possibly. Definitely get rid of the large + and - scores for the randoms

Just lost 1,000,000 points at a random. A bit silly that.

I'd get rid of the rewards for watering flowers as it disincentivises you from trying new routes.
I agree that traffic lights are largely irrelevant, but I quite like them. Last month I managed to own 7 or 8 in line, which proved fairly lucrative.
