As I understand it there are 3 basic possibilities: 1) It's a glitch.
2) It is almost certainly down to the flowers. In other words they have put a shed load of training in previously and planted and watered loads of flowers, which someone else has then run over and picked.
3) The other possibility (though unlikely to net that many points) is that they have earned loads of points previously and then bought loads and loads of bugs (or traffic lights) which they have placed in other runners home circles, thus giving them loads of points.

It's probably flowers as has been said and not necessarily a glitch. You get points when someone picks your flowers whether you have run or not

Is it not also possible that the player has unticked a box that says show your training -or something? I'm sure I've seen one somewhere.
It does look a little strange though

Well this player completely forgot to log yesterday's run, so will be one down. However, the good news is that todays is also within reach (yay, thank you Mr Fetch); and more importantly, I *ran* yesterday, with the puppy.
Properly.
Including back up the hill.
Which isn't much compared to many. And won't earn squillions of points for me. But there is one well-watered flower near me
I'm also wondering how anyone can earn millions of points in one day, but more in a bemused way.

I'd go for the flowers option I've had several healthy points hauls from my flowers being picked, best so far 800k+ points in one go.

One way to score highly would be;
2 people commute by bike to and from work via different routes which are outside any players circles, so every 1 mile they plant a 1000 point flower.
each time they go over there own flower it goes up in value by 500-1000 points. so if for 1 month they both stick to the same route they can lay down 100Ks worth of flowers, and as flowers do not get removed at month end, on the 1st they pick each others up crediting them both with huge scores!
I noticed this seeming to happen with 2 Fetchies locally to me recently, I 'did' a 7 mile run which picked up all of the flowers to prove how the flower system could be manipulated. I instantly went top of the board with 220k+ of points
I then owned up to Lord Fetch to get my points removed.
But I did highlight the exploitable nature of having flowers score 'twice' so making them anomalously high scoring.

I scored 650k for a little bike ride to clear someone's flower patch; it moved me to 11th at the time and him to 13th. Though I actually went further, I could've scored about 600k in a 13 mile ride. I doubt I'll score 650k in the rest of the month in total...

I think it was in November that someone finally took the tube (I think) and did a half mile circuit of my local park and gained us both about 1-1.5 million points - but those flowers represented two+ months of planting and watering. Running through the park about 4 times a week on my way out and back from long runs, repeated 1 mile loops on 4-6 mile runs, as well as interval training - which is always good for planting new flowers. Because the flowers were all so close together it eventually became an overwhelming temptation that just needed to be picked. Working on it again now - Canons Park (Jubilee Line) in case you're interested!
