I use a pull up grip. There was a loud crack from the bones in my weak hand yesterday. I'm not sure if that was good thing or not! It didn't hurt; it was more of a shock and momentary panic that I'd dislocated the bones again, as if šŸ™„

Might try both on different days and see if there is much difference.

Right, so we'd said we'd be going for a Half Murph at the weekend hadn't we?

Well the bad news is that I'm not going to be on it because I'm off running for another week because I pulled my calf a while back and I'm giving it plenty of time to sort itself.

What I might do is a 1km row instead of the runs, and see if I can get the reps done between that, and I reckon that's doable for me.

TBR and Chunky: How are you looking for getting involved?

I think I just need to bite the bullet and try it. Which day did we say Nellers?

Well I think we just said the weekend, mate, so which one works for you? You'll have not-a-parkrun on Saturday presumably so Sunday I guess?

Iā€™m going to give it a miss as I ditched the squats. Still doing daily pull-ups/press-ups though.

Are you feeling any benefits/improvements from putting pull ups into your program yet CW?

I think I have got some more shape in my arms and chest which is good and also my kids like trying them and do some a day which is great for them so that's a good reason to hang up the bar every day.

I want to increase the number but am finding it hard to find the time at the moment. I am doing 5 sets of 5 (and 10 press-us) 4 times a day at the moment. And those sets are 5 pull-ups, 5 chin-ups (both with the band), 5 pull-ups with no band, and then the assisted pull-ups and chin ups again.

Should I go to sets of 6, or try more without the band, or something else to increase the load?

Why not both?

Not really. I'd say if you're managing that volume banded then maybe try some more without the band. Keep the same total reps but try an additional set without the assistance maybe?
