Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but I think there is a track between Ealing and Greenford (W/NW London). Possibly home of Ealing & Southall AC.

Do you mean Perivale Park track? I have worked there before. Could be tricky for those using public transport but possibly worth a try.

Thats the one mgb. I lived near there many moons ago. There is a train station next to it (South Greenford, I think).

i work for Ealing Borough as a contractor, I can certainly make enquiries. I have those 3 numbers I mentioned previously that I can call on Monday too. BUT.. i don't want to tread on toes of people and I don't especially want to organise this.. BUT i am happy to gather information and pass it on or to assist in organisation. I really don't want people to think i have ideas above my station.. so to speak.

Whoever finds a synthetic track that is: A, definitely available, and B, in London, (and C, can assit with a sub-five mile!) should post it to this thread so we can just book it. I shouldn't think it'll be considered stepping on toes by anyone.
That said, I just spent a couple of hours tracking down 30 up-to-date email addresses for most of the London tracks, and I plan to email 'em tomorrow...
There's got to be one track among that bunch that can accomodate us...

A whole bunch of emails just sent. I'll keep everyone posted on the responses.
But don't let me stop other enquiries from taking place. Phone calls (or personal visits to tracks) are still probably better...

made many calls this morning, it's quite frustrating phoning councils. waiting on the following to call back: sutton arena, perivale park, mile end track, paddington.
