Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Yes, we do.

I'm contemplating what the best thing is. We probably don't want people to reveal their home addresses/phone numbers etc over the Internet.

Could we not just have a Fetch WIKI article which people add or delete to as appropriate - perhaps those doing the walks/challenges list what they are doing and when and the areas in which they would be likely to wish to stay and then Fetchies who can help can fmail them or post in the article that they are in a particular area and the person doing the challenge gets in touch.

For example I would help if I could but there would be various factors to consider. If I saw a Fetchie who hates or is allergic to dogs was doing a long distance walk right past my house I wouldn't offer them accommodation because I have a dog.
But in other circumstances if a Fetchie was doing a walk and the route took them nearish (say 10/15 miles) then I might be prepared to offer something and go and pick them up/drop them back from their route.

I think SarahL stayed with Fetch contacts when she did her Lejog cycle ride so we know it *can* work.
Pros - RAK
Cons - axe murderers.

May be we could start a "I'm an axe murderer thread" and if any one posts on it we would no not to invite them

There is already the warmshowers site aimed at cyclists. We've hosted a few and it's been no problem for us.
