The first wave of voluntary annual subscriptions is due to come to an end tomorrow.

I was thinking that from here on, there could be an option to donate a smaller amount each month, rather than one annual payment.

In my head, I was thinking three levels - something like £4.99 per month, £2.99 per month, and £1.99 per month - and to make them "rolling" rather than a one off - with the option of cancelling them at any point, no questions asked.

The slightly tricky thing is how to do accompanying "goodies". I got the idea that the pin badges and car stickers were "ok", but not fabulous. Am I right? But if someone is willing to fork out some cash each month, then I think it's only right to do something, somehow. So I reckon that if folks were to go for the £4.99 option, they should definitely get a free shirt. Sure, there might be someone out there who starts a subscription, claims the free shirt and then cancels it... but given the overwhelming support you all gave me over the subscriptions last time, let's go with the "everyone is awesome" option :-)

What do you reckon? I'll stick this in a blog too.

Will there still be similar levels of Annual Payment as well?

I might actually have *too many* shirts :-o

I'd rather annual myself but I can see why you're thinking monthly. In terms of goodies a buff would be good . . .

I've added my thoughts to your blog... but I think options for choosing monthly, annual, or indeed an 'opt in/out as you wish' subscriptions would work. I know of another site which also looks for voluntary funding and has an option to make an occasional donation - or as they put it, 'buy the site editor a beer'!
