I have had something from Briardale but I don't think it was that one. I will look out for it though. The Beer Festival at the Redoubt Fort is one of the best ones there is. I'm not a huge fan of all Harwich Town's beers but the guy who runs it does an excellent job with that festival and had also been getting some good guest beers for delivery alongside his own during the first lockdown.

We got a porter called (I think) 1870 Runner from Ampersand Brewery (on the Norfolk Suffolk border) from a local pub which has started doing take out deliveries this lockdown as they are now not allowed to do collection takeaways. Four pints of that was well received! Ampersand also do a lovely stout called CaCow too.

The people at Saltaire brewery are very good...the virtual tour had a salesman, a product manager and the brewer himself plus videosbfrom the founder of the brewery, the guy that fixes the machinery and a tour of the brewery.

beers:-

Blonde, a lagery beer very nice had it several times before, Best which was great, a session IPA and NZ pale again great and a triple chocolate stout...it had cocoa nibs, chocolate essence and chocolate malt...not my cup of tea but I drank a 500ml bottle....the brewer had a massive beard but was about 30. Typical.

bedtime!

A nice pint of Tribute last week and I tried Adnams new Blood Orange IPA and like it until I realised it was £5 a pint.

I keep reading with the shortage of bar staff, reduced capacity that the answer seems to be bunging up prices...not been anywhere yet, so I don't know!
