We attach them to wrist bands, so not much different to having them on your finger (certainly for the number of times you have to acces them).

Yes, I've used them with the wristbands too.

(although why I couldn't have used my own in those races, I'm not sure either).

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve asked my club and, as someone said, members in the past often donated their old ones to the club for the hire stock.

So it looks like there isn’t any particular reason not to buy the cheapest type.

Not unless you want to be competitive (i.e. winning things) at British and JK sprints - there having a contactless one *does* definitely make a material difference.

The air SI cards are amazing, I have a card built into my compass but wish I had an air.

I see BOF 2020 is cancelled. Although they don’t admit it and talk about it being in 2021 😂.

Partly in thanks to do the Orienteering thing the other week for the podcast, I'm now helping BOF put together a "jargon buster" page on their website.

So (a) thanks to fetch for facilitating and pushing me to finally do the chatty thing and (b) if anyone has given it a go and has come across language/words and other stuff that's they've not understood or had to go away and find out what is meant, let me know - either post on here or send me an fmail.

When I first started it always seemed to me that a lot of events were referred to only by their initials and I also struggled to discern the difference between an OC and an OK (turns out there isn’t any really).

The club names? Or the actual events Angus?

And yes, the "K" thing....
