Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Progress has been made.
I'll hopefully get the face and the metal bits done by the weekend.

Top plate on, Air filter pipes on (had to cut the exhaust shields to get them to fit) front armour plate on and I've detailed the tools.

Proving fiddly but enjoyable

Do the mould lines show or are you able to get rid of them?

They do, i paint the side that will be inaccessible after assembly, then file or sand the marks out.

When I spot a part I can paint on the sprue I cut off as many contact points as I can and file them flat so it'll be less touching in later.

I try to not paint the faces that are glued.

I'll try to do a picture, sometimes it's a patience thing, if I'm waiting for something to set up I'll prep another part, usually an ancillary, on this one the cables that sit on the top of the hull, it saves me getting to previous and fiddling with the section that's drying.

There we are the cables pre painted after being cut to a single contact point. Think I even managed to use the point that will be on the inside.

I can't believe that we've got Crafts, Gardening, Computer Games, but not model cars, trains...!

Just don't call them toys!

My particular hobby was 1/10th scale radio controlled car racing. I'm now looking to get into radio controlled planes. We have some Airfix model builders in here and Lego builders too. Any type of model vehicles really! Planes, trains, automobiles... boats, helicopters, anything! Come join in! :-) G
