I watched the 'kitchen sink; genre film, 'Up The Junction' on 'Talking Pictures' last night. Not as harrowing as parts of the Ken Loach production in the 'Wednesday Play' series but the poverty and nihilism are lifted by lively performances from Suzy Kendall as the 'rich kid' wanting to make good on her own, and Dennis Waterman, superb as the working class lad who dared to want better. Maureen Lipman and Alfie Bass also appeared. Musical score by the band, Manfred Mann.
