paulcook 8 Feb 9:18pm, 8 Feb 2026 9,740 posts	paulcook Thankfully I'm only doing the Dart this year (for various reasons, one being to try and enjoy the finish in daylight, but if this weather persists there's no enjoying that finish!) so I don't have that climb to look forward to. Though I have to admit, I love the view from the top and the run along the top until somewhere just before Great Coum. Took a different line to everyone around me, hopped over a few bogs, and made some time up. Yes, I noticed yesterday it was full for both events now. I've only done the last 2 but ummed and ahhed a few years before then and never been full before.

Also it seems that the stile over the Whernside ridge wall has been left in place and consequently there is now a clear trod to follow all the way down to Kingsdale.

Especially for the last couple of legs where it's dark, craggy and usually a blizzard. It's a shame that that trod is now established. Used to be able to make up a fair bit along that stretch if you knew the lines.
