I've had to go up half a size in 255s too, at least compared to all the inov-8 trail shoes I've been in for the last 7 months. Wore 200s on Saturday and I'd forgotten how they are on mud and wet grass, and how much worse than trail shoes they are on wet rock!

Both 200s and 215s are far wider than the original 212s. I had to go a size bigger in 212s to get enough width.

Tell you what D, you're right there! This is digressing a bit, but I got a pair of the latest Hierro (v7) recently and the sole on that is tremendous, deeper lugs than previous versions and good on rock. I don't think the shoe that will stick to slippy, slimy rock has yet been invented.

olde english - I'm not in the area, but race sounds interesting - do post up if you get it going as I've got a group of ultra runner and other hard nut friends who are keen to do more races up in the Peaks.

The Oroc (now the ArcticClaw?) is OK for slippy rock, but it puts my teeth on edge like nails down a blackboard.

Actually I see Inov8 still make the Oroc too.

Am hearing rumours that Keswick will be hosting next year's Fell Relays, is that the buzz Simon?

The TerraUltra / Trailfly 270s are surprisingly good on slippery rock, far better than any of the pure fell shoes. I guess being lugs rather than studs they get far more surface area in contact. Maybe the graphene helps too (it doesn't seem much good for anything else, definitely not longevity).

Yes re. Keswick for the fell relays. Not sure where exactly but some people said maybe Braithwaite?

Daft question but are there any requirements to enter team or teams for the FRA relays? I was only thinking after last weekend of coercing some of my club to at least enter one team for next year.
