Shameful behaviour that NE; utterly disgraceful (and patently out of order as far as fellrunning goes, where being wifed is not uncommon)

You'll always get some idiots in every sport; luckily fell running seems to have less than many.

fozzy - weak ankles are another of my issues. Having done them both badly in the last year doesn't help the confidence to just 'let go' either. And some of it may just be old age :-)

It's OK, I was properly angry at the time but it did help cement an opinion I'd already formulated.

I've received a couple of messages asking for more details of my Ingleton Wall Line circuit, so have made the route public and shared it. Here it is:

We are talking the same "fellsman shortcut" :-)

You got a similar route for Whernside, Great Coum and Gragareth, NE?

Was thinking of doing a route from Kingsdale up Whernside, down and over to Great Coum and then over the top to Gragareth.

Not been up there since the (now sadly defunct) Whernside race.

Afraid not, but I'm pretty sure I could cobble something together for you as I do have the Fellsman lines down to Kingsdale, up to Gragareth and along to Great Coum. Perhaps an option would be to drop down to Dent and again following the Fellsman route go up to Boot O' The Wold and then climb Whernside from there, going past Whernside Tarns. It's nice running territory up there and little known. Most people don't even realise there are tarns on Whernside :-)

I was thinking something like this: gmap-pedometer.com

Although 15miles might still be a bit far for me at the moment.

I've been up the climb from Dent past the Tarns before (doing the Whernside FR). It's easily the nicest (and quietest) way up Whernside.

Issue with that route ^^ is the (legal) wall hopping over the Great Coum/Gragareth stretch.

I remember the walls being quite tall as there were a couple to climb over on the Whernside race.
