I know gg I donated a dress. It had owls on it.
Regretted it weeks later. It must of sold or got sent somewhere else. Never saw it again

I am doing a "gentle" and gradual declutter ready for a potential move later in the year.
Finding it very satisfying :-)

So… we had new carpet in the sitting room. The book case was moved into the dining room but I’d like a smaller one so I’m having a purge.

Can anyone tell me what I can do with ancient video tapes? Mostly pre recorded Disney. Would a charity take them? Would they recycle? I’m loathe to toss in the black bin for landfill.

Our nearest charity shop had a sign to say they weren't taking VHS. And one of them wasn't even taking books :-/

I took all my old VHS tapes to the charity shops and Marie Curie took them! They said there was still demand as you cannot get them new any more. Shop around by phone?

When we moved house over 10 years ago the charity shops wouldn't take our old VHS tapes (also mostly Disney) and we had to tip them. Broke my heart, I was quite attached to some of them, but we no longer had a VHS player and were moving somewhere much smaller.

Tends to be places with a large elderly population who will take VHS as they still have the players.

Help advice and support for declutterers

Special May Challenge

theminimalists.com

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
