We’ve ponds with a car park about 200m away, they’re popular with local dog walkers & a group of old guys maintain the area.

Last few mornings going to work I’ve noticed campervans & motor homes there. Five this morning, someone must’ve put it on a website I reckon. I presume such things exist?

Scribbler, we stayed on the Sleat peninsular on Skye and there were people camped on some of the beaches between Ord and Tarskavaig. I swam there in early June when the water was breathtakingly cold

Searchforsites is another one Ally, and we did find it very useful for finding places in Scotland. We were very careful to do nothing that might make locals want to stop overnight parking and sleeping.

What local people might find strange is that there’s a cheap campsite less than a mile away.

I think some people take it upon themselves as a challenge to stay everywhere without paying for facilities. Each to their own… 🤷‍♀️

I like showers and toilets so if we go away then a site must have these basics.

We find alternating between free or cheap stops and proper camp sites is workable. We do have a shower and toilet in the van, but would use those on site if available.

Same here.

It does sometimes annoy me though that I'm sat there in my wee van, using electricity for my fridge and a couple of lights and paying the same as the guy next to me in a massive motorhome with large fridge, lighting, TV, awning...

But yes, access to toilets and shower is a must for me.
