Does anyone else here think of pied wagtails as roofbirds? So many times I seem them on roofs of buildings, of all different kinds. I don't know what it is about that environment that suits them so well.

We see a lot of them on the open ground outside the front of our house.
They also seem to know when it is birdwatch weekend, and put in an appearance in our back garden where we normally don’t see them at other times.
I’ve also seen them take a dislike to their own reflections in windows!

This one demanded it's breakfast every morning when we opened the door of our holiday cottage. It would also sit on the back of the chairs when we were eating outside and eat out of our hands.

I’ve been cutting back the garden ready for winter, moving piles of leaves around and digging out some old tree stumps. The robin keeps flying down and shouting at me for titbits/worms.

They think we're pigs! That's where they learned all this behaviour from (long, long ago), following pigs around in woodland as they turned over the ground with their snouts, revealing grubs and worms aplenty.
