Really hope to see them! The only times I've ever seen waxwings, in fact, have been in my street - once where I lived before, once where I live now. I do hope they turn up again!

My first day working at WWT at Caerlaverock for three or four weeks. What a transformation with over-wintering birds filling up the fields and ponds. I didn't have a lot of time for bird watching but spotted widgeon, tufted duck, whooper and mute swans, Canada and barnacle geese.

I had two male bullfinches in the front garden this morning feeding off the seeds on the rowan. I love bullfinches.

A redwing in the holly tree outside my bedroom window this afternoon.

I suspect all the holly berries will be gone within days if his fieldfare friends join him!

The rowan tree I saw the bullfinch in this morning has just blown over in the storm. :(
Fortunately, there was no one hurt and no damage to property.
