Terrible rainstorm here in the Black Mountains.
I am supposed to be at a conference 2.5 hrs drive away, to sign on at 8.30...

But I overslept and rather than rushing out into flooded lanes, risking the car, I am having porridge...

Didn’t Espresso yesterday. By the time I was ready to go in the afternoon I had to get from Ambleside to Keswick, which would’ve meant a late start. Did a trail run from Rotvay Park instead, taking in LL50 and Ultimate Trails route round Little and Great Langdale. Finishing at High Close Youth Hostel. Good fun in hail, rain and wind 😀

Sounds good, Dave A. Yesterday’s weather made us change our plans. Today, however, could not have been better for the Grizedale 26.

As disappointed as I was with not doing the Espresso, the Langdale washing machine was really enjoyable 😀

Spotted a random cow munching on the verge at the A66 / B5289 junction west of Keswick. Often come across cows / sheep on lanes but not an everyday thing on the A66!! (We did report it)

Productive few weeks Wainwright-wise:
16th Oct - Hallin Fell and Steel Knotts
18th - Whiteless Pike, Wandope, Crag Hill and Grasmoor on a glorious sunny day
Today - Glenridding Dodd. Wet miserable murky day couldn't be more different to last time out

Walked from Keswick to Walla Crag, only had 10 minutes of rain plus a smidge of blue sky. Great day out!
