I've been reading up on Roman history just lately, quite astounding that Ravenglass was their primary port access into northern Britain at the time.

Bloody Romans.

I loved the Crap Towns description of the inhabitants of Cleator Moor as being like tumbleweeds, though when I did locum work there I found them rather less welcoming than tumbleweeds. But it has a Co-op.

"Cleator Moor is the second most affordable town in the UK, according to recent figures released by estate agents, Zoopla."

"Coun. Oliver Dorgan of Cleator Moor said of the news: “That’s excellent to hear. Cleator moor has a lot going for it. I would advise anyone to come and live here."

I think councillor Dorgan is missing the subtext. Or works in marketing.
