Hello LD lovers

This is a blatant plug - but I'm reaching out to friends and family to see if they can help spread the word.

My parents are no longer with us and their home is up for sale. It was put up for sale just before the original lockdown so didn't attract much attention or passers-by over the last year. Hopefully, we'll now see more visitors in the area and enquiries from further afield but now we're starting to get stung for being an accidental landlord and, as much as I'd like to keep it, we're not in a position to do so.

It's in a quiet village by the coast, on the SW fringes of the National Park - handy for the west coast, ten minutes from the bottom of the Duddon Valley and just over half an hour from Coniston.

I'm conscious it needs a little cosmetic work (it was my parents’ taste!) - so it's priced accordingly, and we haven't adjusted for house price increases over the last year.

Otherwise, it's a decent house that would suit the right people - family or retirement. If you know of anyone who might be interested, then I'd be very grateful if you could share it with them.

I'll put a few quid behind Fetch's bar to say thanks when we can..!

Halinn fell as i was coming down from Bonscale pike on Monday early evening. The sun came out just as I was heading back into Martindale having been cloudy all day. Ullswater looked amazing from up there

Just catching up with the thread, so hello everyone.

Good luck with the house sale Mushroom - I would be interested as I've just retired and we're looking for a bolt-hole, but unfortunately it's on the wrong side of the lakes. We need easy access back to Merseyside in case of emergency (mother-in-law is 94) so we're looking on east side, otherwise it would have been ideal.

Rosehip, I recognise that bus-stop (a few pages back) - we were there the previous week, staying about 200m down the hill. We'll be back again in mid-October for a few days if we haven't got our bolt-hole sorted

I see that Cumbrian Tourism has been inspired by the Highland 500 to come up with their own Coastal Route and Tour for campervan lovers.

I was a bit worried that my usual commute would be clogged up with houses on wheels, but it looks as they don't want to showcase Workington and the A596.

Having spent years commuting through Birmingham, or up the M6 to Telford, I never fail to appreciate the views along the A596 between Maryport and Workington.

Up in the Lakes this week. Staying near Hawkshead which was a bit of a mistake in hindsight.

Anyway, great weather and not too mad busy the places we’ve been. The only thing that’s annoying is the amount of change expected to pay to park in the National Trust car parks!

Just back in from a long lazy lunch at the cafe on Esthwaite Water. Lovely spot with some excellent osprey watching, highly recommended 👍🏻.
