I've got falling over!

Slipped on loose gravel, stubbed my toe and over I went. Ended up upside down with my legs in the air clutching the bracken to stop me rolling down the hill.

That's why it's called fell running.

Two falls in 8100 km. One a couple of years ago - landed on my chin on the concrete. Continued jogging home (only about 2 km) with blood dripping out of my beard into a cupped hand.

Second fall was last week. Coming down a slope with a bit of pace about 15.5 km into a 16 km run. Tripped on the concrete (maybe a non-flat join in the path) and went sprawling. Grazed my elbow through a long-sleeved polyprop thermal (it was about 3ÂșC). That lost me 10 seconds or so. Continued fine.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Welcome to Fetch RossN. Ran a fair bit in Manawatu back in 2007/08, but for the rival Wanganui Harrier Club.

Don't be adding to your falls collection any time soon!

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Took a spectacular slide on a downhill muddy section of Mount Stuart parkrun. But there was so little friction that damage was pretty much limited to a small scrape on the elbow and a bruised bum cheek.

Full frontal on the tarmac this morning. Fortunately I managed to keep my head up but both hands and right knee took a good bashing. I think I left a few chunks of skin there.

I feel over a tree root on my run today about 1km in. My arm hurts.
