Update: we were told on Saturday that the toilet situation is in hand. So pls be patient and in the meantime 'go' before coming to the park or bring a 10p for the portaloo.

Bumpity bump just to keep from expiry. Still going well, averaging over a hundred. Numbers trending up slightly. Interesting to see what we get on an absolute stinker of a day. We have had a couple of damp ones (Spikeyboy has caused these ;-)) but it has in the main been surprisingly clement for the runs. |

EVENT CANCELLED - Falkirk parkrun – Saturday 7th January 2012 It is with deep regret that the event directors have decided to cancel this weekends event. After a course inspection today to witness the amount of damage sustained following the storms earlier this week, it was apparent that to host a safe & enjoyable event was not going to be possible. Uprooted trees blocking the course, foliage everywhere, flooding, tree’s and branches dangling over the course and the heavily rutted trail path towards the top of Heartbreak Hill means that we have decided the course is not safe enough to go ahead. Please respect the decision taken but the event team, and where possible, communicate this to anyone you know who may have attended this weekend. The Council and the Forestry Commission are currently working within the park & woodland area to clear up the debris so we hope that progress is made over the next 4-5 days to allow us to host an event on 14th January. Keep checking the Falkirk parkrun news section of the website or the Falkirk parkrun facebook page for the latest news concerning the course condition. Thanks again and hope to see you all soon. Hi folks, Things are looking on up. The forestry commission are still beavering away so we may have all obstacles cleared for the weekend. However, if not then we have worked out a route only slightly different from the usual one (we found another path running parallel to the blocked one) so barring any more nasty forces of nature the event is on for this weekend.
