I enjoyed it. As sci fi goes it didn’t overegg it’s brave new world stuff. I would prefer a toast maker to an octopus, I like toast.

Given I’ve just yomped through it in 3 hrs I gave it an 8. Only one quail moment when he was sent off with Faber in his ears and I feared having to gear myself up for a shift in tone and had to bite back the urge to count how many pages I had left.
I don’t think I believed in any of the characters as such - they were more demonstrations of a point - but I wasn’t bored. And it was probably hugely influential. And the paper burning was very prettily described

Just read back. It appears I like my toast more buttery than Quimby. I laughed at the men, men bit, bloody men, taking our jobs, writing our books etc. Like what really upset Montag was the principle of destroying someone’s labour. I thought that was written by an author ;-) But it was more about the ideas than the scribing. And it was a tad shouty. But I still enjoyed it, cheers Westmoors

I like my toast buttery. But I like it to be coldish when spread, not molten. It's OK if it melts *on* the toast. Not before.

Ooh, I remember dripping sitting congealing in a dish at my parents' house. Bleh.

Cold toast makes you less fat. It was in Glenners’ blog so it must be true.

I wondered if my review would mainly engender toast related comments ;-)
