It's to do with the contribution to the Eurovision organisation rather than just paying for the song contest. Eurovision do shared broadcasting resources for international events too so it's not like we're just throwing money away for this. Which is a bloody good job when you've just told the other member states to eff off then wondered why they don't like you. |

with the weighting of public vote there's no prayer for the uk now, no matter what they throw at it. wonder how long before they go back to crooners and boybands of yesteryear instead of instantly forgotten soloists....

The financial contribution to the Eurovision seems to haver certain similarities to Brexit don't you think? Only turned on for the voting last night as somewhat preoccupied. Iceland's political protest on their scarves will probably come to nothing but a stupid thing to do nevertheless. And how long did it take to give the Swede's public vote score? That seemed to go on for at least five minutes alone. The only way we can do well in the public vote is if a vast majority of the UK goes on a weekend European break and votes. Otherwise we have no chance. |
