What’s interesting, intriguing even, is that there is nothing about why it has been delayed/cancelled. It is just that they don’t have an update on what might happen next.

That they don’t know what can be arranged yet is understandable (as I said before, I’m sceptical it can be rearranged for this year) but I see no reason other than embarrassment why the cause of the problem has not been admitted.

Yes Jen I agree, however as I work in warrington I noticed resurfacing work has commenced on part of the route leaving exposed ironwork etc.
Now I’m only speculating, but it could be one council dept hasn’t been informed of the forthcoming event and maybe there are inter departmental discussions taking place on who takes responsibility for the situation.

They say they’re having ‘positive discussions with all relevant parties’ but it’s taking longer than they’d anticipated, which is why they can’t update us this week as promised. It sounds like a holding device but who knows? I paid £30.99 for this race (and OH the same) so won’t be happy if we’ve lost it.

It may be a total coincidence, but I noticed earlier that the Artisan Market that was also planned to be taking part this Sunday at Walton Gardens (within 1-2miles of the EHM route, for those that don’t know) has also been cancelled “Due to unforeseen operational and logistical issues”.

It’s total speculation on my part, but maybe there IS a genuine reason outside the organisers control for the postponement.

All I can add is that one of our other coaches works for the council. He said it was not a council issue, the fact no numbers have been sent out seems, fishy?
