Just back from a leg from Chartham Hatch to Painter's Forstal in Kent with SpeedyMel. The relay has fallen behind schedule (apparently someone's planned route took them over a bridge which turned out to be closed and led to a lengthy diversion.) However, the runners before us have caught some up and we managed to gain a few minutes too. Like Foxy, we loved running at that time of day. We set out at around 3:40am on our leg. It was pitch black running down country lanes with head and hand torches at the start. After about 5 miles, it was suddenly so light that the torches weren't needed. We both thoroughly enjoyed being part of this

Saw Traviss on the BBC last night in Iceland (we were in Iceland, Traviss was in Dover). The real torch arrived with the group that must have legged it some to get there for the TV

Good Luck Emdee, you might want to go to bed now, I had quite a few calls and texts close to my time, so didn't end up getting any sleep! Rob had to put up with grumpy Mel, but that's not new!

Mel wasn't grumpy. She was admittedly a little displeased that there were considerably more uphill sections than we had anticipated, but not grumpy!
